Peat is composed of the remains of various plant species. These plant remains accumulate, become buried by soil, and undergo inundation conditions for many years. Under anaerobic decomposition conditions, the plant remains are transformed into peat.
In peat, the inorganic content is 18-24%, while the remaining percentage is organic matter. According to scientific surveys, the global amount of peat is approximately 300 billion tons, accounting for 1.5% of the Earth's surface area. Peat is used in various economic industries.
Used as raw material for organic fertilizers and foliar fertilization
