Okoume plywood is made from the Okoume tree, a type of African hardwood known as Aucoumea Klaineana. This wood is only available in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Congo. The Okoume tree can grow to heights of over 3.4 meters and has tightly arranged trunks.
Okoume plywood has a light red tint and a smooth, straight texture with minimal ripples. Its lightweight nature makes it ideal for constructing racing boats. It can also be used to make protective walls, furniture for the home, and kitchen cabinets.
The characteristics of Okoume plywood, similar to other types, make it suitable for sawing and screwing. It is commonly used for fencing, containers, and building materials. In the furniture and marine industries, it is frequently employed. Its beautiful wood color and strong resistance to weather allow it to be formed into sealed edges and sides. Boat building often utilizes this material for sealing surfaces and producing edges due to its strength, lightweight nature, and attractive colors. Customers can also use it to create kitchen cabinets, TV tables, or bedside cabinets.
