Level 4 medical protective clothing is the highest line of protective clothing, with the best ability to limit the penetration of bacteria and liquids. Therefore, the users of the product are often people who work directly with infection sources, where there is a high risk of infection due to frequent contact. During the Covid-19 epidemic, frontline units, doctors, nurses, volunteers who have direct contact and work with F0 (who are infected) need to be equipped with Level 4 protective clothing.
Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son once said: "In the current situation, if you remove the protective clothing, it will lose the protective weapons for medical staff when taking samples for COVID-19 testing". Therefore, we can see the importance of medical protective clothing to us and especially medical staff. Medical protective clothing currently has 4 levels classified based on barrier performance, ability to limit the penetration of bacteria and lets, including Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4. Each level will have standards of testing, corresponding to different materials and designs.
With Level 4 medical protective clothing, the fabric used is PP non-woven fabric with PE lamination to increase waterproofing ability. In addition, this fabric is pressed with an extra layer of flame retardant at a light level. This layer is electrostatic and coated with an additional layer of air breathable film, which is a layer that helps breathe from inside to the outside to help users be comfortable. Level 4 protective clothing must meet ASTM F1671 (used to evaluate completed protective clothing products for their resistance to penetration of liquid synthetic blood). This standard includes seam conditions, material conditions, and water pressure conditions when tested, ensuring that liquids and bacteria do not enter and contact the user.
For Levels 1 - 2 - 3, standards can be implemented in domestic Labs to evaluate the quality of products. Particularly for level 4, the tests need to be sent to foreign labs for testing because the labs in Vietnam do not have enough equipment and standard. Therefore, when buying protective clothing, you need to pay close attention to the material and the indicators specified for each level because this is a product used for an infectious environment, you need to be careful in choosing a reputable and potential supplier in this field.
Packaging method:
Products will be packed in PE bags and vacuum-sealed to ensure sterility when reaching the user. Medical protective clothing should be slightly wider than the body so that during exercise, the body is not uncomfortable and hot. For Vietnam's climate, it is not recommended to wear protective clothing that is too tight, it will easily make the users tired.
